THE PROCESS OF CREATING IN MEMORIAM PIECES
A small amount of your loved one’s ashes are carefully arranged on a specially prepared steel-faced table (marver). Gathered from the glass furnace on a long metal rod (punty), the hot glass is shaped and then rolled in glass frit of your chosen colour/s. The glass is then rolled over the ashes which adhere to the hot glass surface. As they meet the hot glass, the ashes create gases and bubbles which are often visible in the finished piece. Another layer of clear glass is added to encase the ashes, and the piece is formed by hand tools into the desired shape. The finished piece is then placed into an annealer to cool down overnight.
Your finished memorial piece may be engraved with a small amount of text/or dates at your request.
Any remaining ashes are returned with your order.
Memorial Orbs are 2” in diameter.
Each Memorial Orb requires about 1/2 teaspoon of ashes.
We are happy to discuss and create custom orders.
